In December 2025, Pie changed its activity feed to display which connections were attending a given event. Average session time rose from 2 minutes to 10 minutes — a 5x increase. The Chicago-based social app, founded by Bonobos co-founder Andy Dunn with 300,000 users and $11.5 million raised, had been under-serving its existing social graph: social context, not event discovery, drove retention.
