Sydney developer Bathla Group enters administration under $3 billion debt, 1,000 homes in limbo

Sydney developer Bathla Group entered voluntary administration on August 25, 2026, strained under more than $3 billion in debts. Administrator Teneo said its priority is to "stabilise the Group's operations." Approximately 1,000 homes and $1.5 billion in projects hang in the balance. Founder Bhart Bhushan described the move as an orderly restructure; 1,522 NSW construction firms collapsed in 2025/26.
