
Plurality of New Zealanders say National wrong to keep Luxon as leader
An RNZ-Reid Research poll of 1,000 people (14–21 August 2026, margin of error +/- 3.1%) found 45.4% believe National's caucus made the wrong call retaining Christopher Luxon as leader after a failed August challenge. 36.8% backed the decision; 17.8% were unsure. National supporters endorsed Luxon at 78%.
