Liberal MP crosses floor on gambling jersey ban — for being too weak

Liberal MP Andrew Wallace crossed the floor to vote against the government's gambling jersey ban, arguing the five-year transition period was too generous. Wallace had pushed his party room to accept a two-year deadline. Crossbench senator David Pocock separately called the five-year window excessive. The ban allows existing sponsorship deals to remain on shirts until 2032.
