Syria Says Near-Complete Security Deal With Israel Was Frozen by Iran War

Syria's foreign minister, Asaad al-Shaibani, told Reuters the two sides had "agreed on paper to almost everything" on a deal requiring Israel to stop attacking Syria and withdraw from territory seized after Assad's 2024 fall. Talks froze when the US-Israel war on Iran began. The US is pressuring Israel to return; al-Shaibani expects resumption soon.
