Supreme Court Lets Trump Proceed With White House Ballroom Construction

The Supreme Court on Aug. 21 stayed a lower court injunction blocking President Trump's 90,000-square-foot White House ballroom, letting construction continue without congressional approval while the administration's appeal proceeds. Chief Justice John Roberts signed the order. The National Trust for Historic Preservation, which sued arguing Congress must approve the project, warned the stay could moot the case before merits are litigated.
