
Brethren tell electoral inquiry Nine's far-right influencer reporting is a 'complete lie'
Plymouth Brethren director Lloyd Grimshaw told the Joint Standing Committee on Electoral Matters that Nine newspapers' reporting the church paid far-right influencers to stage stunts targeting Anthony Albanese during the 2025 election was a "complete lie." He denied paying for political activity, chartering planes, or moving people. He conceded some members volunteered but denied church coordination.
