Albany Woman Charged in ISIS-Inspired Bomb Plot Targeting New York State Capitol

Jessica Bowie, 35, of Albany, was arrested August 19 after taking possession of what she believed was an explosive device, the Justice Department announced. A federal complaint charges she planned to bomb the New York state capitol, kill public officials, and flee to Syria. The device was inert. Governor Hochul ordered enhanced capitol security, citing rising threats against officials.
