
Freight industry calls on parties to back a Minister of Supply Chain for 2026 election
The National Road Carriers association wants all parties contesting the 2026 election to commit to a dedicated Minister of Supply Chain. NRC chief executive Justin Tighe-Umbers said roads, rail, ports, workforce and energy sit under separate ministers and agencies with no single accountability point. He said Australia, Singapore and the United Kingdom each have a single freight minister.
