PBAC recommends triptorelin for PBS listing across breast cancer, endometriosis and gender dysphoria

The PBAC has recommended the federal government list triptorelin unrestricted on the PBS, covering breast cancer, endometriosis and gender dysphoria. The move was prompted by AstraZeneca withdrawing Zoladef from the market, threatening 7,500-plus breast cancer patients. If implemented, it would subsidise gender-affirming care through the PBS for the first time and cut patient costs from about $3,000 to roughly $300 a year.
