
$106m spent on Auckland harbour crossing reports, no decision until 2027
More than $106 million has been spent on reports for a second Auckland harbour crossing, with no decision on what to build. Transport Minister Chris Bishop said Cabinet would be in a position to decide in 2027. The NZTA board chose a tunnel as its preferred option in May, but Auckland Mayor Wayne Brown wants a cheaper bridge across Meola Reef re-examined.
