
Carroll won't say if Ibac's Operation Richmond conduct would be 'corruption' under his own reforms
Victorian Premier Ben Carroll plans to expand Ibac's corruption definition before November's election, but declined to say whether conduct in Ibac's Operation Richmond — a secret union deal probe — would qualify. A government broadening corruption laws while refusing to test them against a live case leaves a fairly obvious question hanging. The legislation heads to extra sitting days; whether it passes is another matter.
