GitHub's concurrent Pull Request and Webhook degradation hits both code review and CI/CD pipelines
GitHub is tracking an active August 17 incident with degraded performance across Pull Requests and Webhooks simultaneously. Pull requests are the primary code-review entry point; webhooks drive CI/CD triggers, deployment automation, and integration notifications. When both layers degrade at once, downstream systems from CI runners to Slack alerts can silently stall. No root cause analysis has been published.
