Hipkins rules out streaming tax and ute tax after initial refusal

Labour leader Chris Hipkins has ruled out introducing a streaming tax on companies like Netflix and bringing back the ute tax, reversing an earlier refusal to rule either out. The clarification followed days of pressure from National, including finance spokesperson Nicola Willis and campaign chair Simeon Brown. Hipkins dismissed the attacks as "hysterical desperation."
