Stripe Nears $7B+ OpenRouter Acquisition, a 5x Jump From May Valuation

Bloomberg reports Stripe is nearing a deal to acquire AI gateway startup OpenRouter for over $7 billion — more than five times the $1.3 billion valuation from its May 2026 Series B. OpenRouter, which offers a unified API to 400+ AI models and claims 8 million users, raised $113 million just three months ago. Stripe declined to comment. The deal is not finalized.
