Google Lets Users Turn Off Visible AI Watermarks, Keeping Invisible Provenance Markers

Google added a "Media watermark" toggle in Gemini and Flow that removes the sparkle watermark from AI-generated images, videos, and music. Invisible SynthID watermarks and C2PA metadata persist regardless, per Google Labs VP Josh Woodward. Users can verify provenance via Gemini or Google Search. The toggle won't launch in countries requiring visible watermarks by law.
