
Woman Charged With Federal Felonies for World War II Memorial Vandalism
Melissa L Farris was arrested on August 14 and charged with two federal felonies — Depredation Against Property of the United States and Destruction of Veterans' Memorials — each carrying up to 10 years in prison. She is accused of defacing Washington's World War II Memorial with red graffiti reading "Clean hands dirty $" and pumping soapy bubbles into its fountain.
