Builders Find €9 Million Gold Hoard Bricked Into Belgian Cellar Wall, Turn It Over to Police

Construction workers renovating a property in East Flanders found gold coins and ingots worth approximately €9 million bricked into a cellar wall and handed the hoard to police, calling it theft to keep it. The property belongs to CAW Oost-Vlaanderen, a welfare charity. A prosecutor is investigating the origin of the gold.
