Grassfire Engulfs Stourbridge Neighbourhood on UK's Hottest Day of 2026

A 16-hectare grassfire near Stourbridge golf course spread into homes on 13 August 2026, hospitalising three firefighters and a child. Six homes were directly affected, care home residents were evacuated, and over 60 firefighters were deployed. The fire, with multiple points of origin, coincided with the UK's hottest day of the year at 38.1°C. Train services and roads were closed.
