Air India Orders Universal Pilot Drug Testing After Captain Tests Positive for Marijuana

Air India will test all pilots for banned substances immediately, exceeding the regulatory minimum of random screening for 10%. The move follows a 4 August Phuket-to-Delhi flight that lost 91 metres of altitude, injuring 17. The captain tested positive for marijuana in a confirmatory test. Both pilots were removed from duties; Indian authorities, Airbus, and France's safety agency are investigating.
