Stanford backed Luxon two days after refusing to say she had confidence in him

National MP Erica Stanford, named by party sources as connected to Chris Penk's failed leadership challenge, stayed silent when asked at Wellington airport whether she had confidence in Christopher Luxon. Two days later she issued a statement declaring her "full support" and a "100 percent united" caucus. Stanford retained her position; Penk was sacked from Cabinet.
