White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt to Step Down at End of August
Karoline Leavitt will step down as White House press secretary at the end of August, Trump announced August 12 on Truth Social. Leavitt, the administration's primary spokesperson since January 2025, said she could not be the best mother to her two young children — including a daughter born in May — while devoting the "constant time" the role demands. No successor has been named. Trump said she will become one of his top outside advisors.
