Kennedy Center Ordered to Pay $252,000 to Jazz Musician After Anti-SLAPP Dismissal

D.C. Superior Court Judge Tanya Jones Bosier ordered the Kennedy Center to pay $252,479.70 in legal fees to jazz musician Chuck Redd, who canceled a Christmas Eve concert after the Trump-controlled board voted to rename the institution. Bosier dismissed the Center's suit in June under D.C.'s anti-SLAPP statute, which protects expression on matters of public concern. The Center plans to appeal.
