Ukraine strikes Novorossiysk grain terminal despite pledge to spare oil tankers
Ukrainian drones damaged Novorossiysk's grain terminal overnight August 11–12, killing a child and hitting two dozen buildings. Kyiv pledged in late July 2026 to halt drone strikes on oil tankers at the port after a request from US Vice President JD Vance. The grain terminal strike suggests that commitment covered only tanker traffic, not the port itself.
