Opportunity Party clears 5% threshold for first time, becomes kingmaker in 1News Verian poll

The Opportunity Party has cleared Parliament's 5 percent threshold for the first time in a 1News Verian poll, surging to 9 percent (9 seats). Neither the left bloc (59 seats) nor the right (57) reaches a majority in the 125-seat Parliament without it. Adding the party's 9 seats gives the left 68; the right would reach 66 — if Luxon reverses his ruling-out of the party.
