Sound Barrier Pioneer Andy Green Targets Hydrogen Land Speed Record at Bonneville

Andy Green, who broke the sound barrier in a car in 1997 at 763 mph, returned to Utah's Bonneville Salt Flats on August 11, 2026 to set a land speed record in the hydrogen-powered JCB Hydromax. He reached 368 mph in unofficial practice. To set the record, two timed runs in opposite directions must be observed by the FIA, motor sport's governing body.
