Iraq's al-Zaidi reassures Iran while pressing it to cut ties with armed groups

Iraqi PM Ali al-Zaidi visited Tehran on July 23, pledging Iraq would not allow hostile action against Iran by any party. Yet a key goal, analyst Ghaleb Al-Daami told Al Jazeera, was urging Iran to stop backing armed groups in Iraq and relaying a U.S. message supporting Iraq as mediator between the two warring states.
