Sony Pictures Classics launches Oscar campaign for John Turturro, who has never been nominated

Sony Pictures Classics is mounting an Oscar campaign for John Turturro in 'The Only Living Pickpocket in New York,' which premiered at Telluride on 5 September 2026 (Variety). Turturro, 69, has never received an Academy Award nomination despite winning the best actor prize at Cannes in 1991 for 'Barton Fink.' The Noah Segan-directed film opens in New York and Los Angeles on 23 October (Sony Pictures Classics).
