Section 122 Import Surcharge Hits Legal Expiration July 24

A temporary import tariff imposed February 24 expires by law on July 24 at 12:01 a.m. EDT. The Trade Act caps such measures at 150 days with no extension allowed. A trade court struck down the tariff in May, but it stayed in force until this statutory deadline. Importers must time shipments around the cutoff.
