The RealReal Tightens Bot Defenses After Meta's Agent Kept Re-Holding Cart Items

The RealReal is updating bot defenses (screening automated traffic), making it harder for AI agents to log in, add items to cart and check out. The change follows a Verge test in which Meta's Muse repeatedly re-added listings after 20-minute cart holds expired, blocking other shoppers for hours or longer. Agents can still surface listings, the company said.
