
State Health Exchanges Exposed Patient Data to TikTok and Meta Through Ad Trackers
Nearly all 20 state-run health insurance exchanges sent sensitive applicant data—sex, citizenship, race—to TikTok and Meta via embedded ad trackers, breaching their own privacy policies. Washington state later remedied the issue after disclosure.
