10-year Treasury yield hits 5.106%, highest since 2007

U.S. 10-year Treasury yield rose 13.89 basis points — each is 0.01 percentage point — to 5.106% on Sept. 23, Reuters reported. That's the highest since 2007 and the biggest one-day jump since April 2025. The yield is the return on government bonds. Higher yields usually mean pricier mortgages and tougher competition for stocks.
