10-year Treasury yield hit 5.106%, highest since 2007
The U.S. 10-year Treasury yield jumped 13.89 basis points — hundredths of a percentage point — to 5.106% on Sept. 23, Reuters reported, its highest since 2007 and largest one-day rise since April 2025. Yield is the return on government bonds. Higher yields typically mean costlier mortgages and stiffer competition for stocks.
