Microsoft Brings Xbox Mode to Windows 11 PCs, Unifying Game Pass and Steam

Starting April 2026, Windows 11 PCs will run Xbox Mode, a controller-friendly interface that combines Game Pass with Steam and other game stores in one launcher. It marks Microsoft's deepest convergence of console and PC gaming since the original Xbox, and directly challenges Steam Deck's Big Picture mode by leveraging Microsoft's control of both the operating system and Xbox platform.
