
Isaias Grows to Category 3 Before Gulf Coast Landfall
Hurricane Isaias grew to Category 3 strength on Oct. 9, with winds over 120 mph, the National Hurricane Center said. Category 3 means a major hurricane with dangerous winds. It was 240 miles south of Pensacola, moving north-northeast, and is expected to come ashore between Mobile Bay, Alabama, and Choctawhatchee Bay, Florida, late Oct. 9 or early Oct. 10.
