Powerful Hurricane Isaias Nearing the Gulf Coast

Hurricane Isaias grew much stronger on Oct. 9, reaching Category 3 — a very powerful storm with winds over 120 mph, the National Hurricane Center said. It was 240 miles south of Pensacola, moving toward the north-northeast. It is expected to reach land between Mobile Bay, Alabama, and Choctawhatchee Bay, Florida, late Oct. 9 or early Oct. 10.
