Isaias Strengthens to Category 3 Ahead of Gulf Coast Landfall

Hurricane Isaias strengthened to Category 3 on Oct. 9, with winds over 120 mph, the National Hurricane Center said. Centered 240 miles south of Pensacola and moving north-northeast, it is expected to make landfall between Mobile Bay, Alabama, and Choctawhatchee Bay, Florida late Oct. 9 or early Oct. 10.
