OpenAI Now Offers Hardware Security Keys to ChatGPT Users

OpenAI is sending physical security keys (YubiKeys) to high-risk ChatGPT users through its Advanced Account Security program. These FIDO2-compliant devices block phishing and SIM-swapping attacks that defeat SMS-based two-factor authentication. This is the first time an AI platform has deployed hardware authentication at consumer scale, reflecting a shift: AI services now warrant security measures once reserved for government and corporate systems.
