Labour to detail rental law change in October
Labour is expected to release its rental law plan in October 2026, according to Chris Matthews of Tenancy.co.nz. The plan would amend the Residential Tenancies Act, the law for renting. A Labour spokesperson said the party opposed the return of no-cause evictions, would fix it, and would release more housing detail later. No-cause endings returned in early 2025.
