U.S. freezes green-card labor approvals for eight tech firms
The U.S. has frozen permanent labor certification — the first approval step for a green card — for Microsoft, Adobe, Cognizant, Infosys, Tata Consultancy Services, Wipro, HCL Technologies and Capgemini. Vice President JD Vance announced Oct. 8, alleging firms under-advertised jobs to U.S. workers before sponsoring H-1B holders. New and pending cases are halted.
