U.S. pauses worker green cards at eight companies

The U.S. has stopped processing work-based green-card approvals for Microsoft, Adobe, Cognizant, Infosys, Tata Consultancy Services, Wipro, HCL Technologies and Capgemini. Vice President JD Vance announced Oct. 8, saying the firms did not fairly advertise jobs to American workers before sponsoring foreign visa workers. New and waiting applications are frozen.
