Amazon Replaces Fire Tablets With Alexa Tablets Running Android

Amazon will retire the Fire tablet brand for Alexa Tablets, devices chief Panos Panay told Bloomberg. The new tablets run standard Android, switched from Amazon's custom Fire OS, and include the full Google Play Store for apps. Older Fire tablets limited Gmail, YouTube, Drive and other Google services to the web browser.
