France weighs more short-term borrowing, minister says

France may sell more short-term government bonds, Finance Minister Roland Lescure told the Wall Street Journal in an interview published Oct. 7, saying France would be strategic about new borrowing. Short-term bonds must be refinanced — replaced with new borrowing — sooner. In my view, that would ease market pressure, not cut what France owes.
