Anthropic bans repeated cruelty to Claude

Anthropic updated its usage policy Oct. 8, 2026 to ban 'sustained and needless abusive or cruel behavior' toward Claude. Ending the conversation remains the main enforcement in extreme cases. Frustration, pushback, dark fiction and safety testing are excluded. The ban applies only to repeated cruelty with no clear purpose.
