AMD to Buy World Labs for $8.2 Billion in Stock

$8.2 billion in AMD shares is the reported price for AI lab World Labs. AMD announced September 28 it will buy the San Francisco company, with closing expected by end of 2026, Reuters reported. AMD says World Labs' AI model research will guide its chips, software and AI infrastructure systems. World Labs says it signed a final deal to join.
