AMD to Buy AI Lab World Labs for $8.2 Billion

$8.2 billion in AMD stock, not cash, is the reported price for World Labs. AMD said September 28 it will buy the San Francisco AI lab, closing expected by end of 2026, Reuters reported. AMD says World Labs' AI work will help build its computer chips, programs and large systems. World Labs says it signed a final deal to join.
