Burnham Puts Rejoining the EU Among Long-Term Options

Reversing Brexit is among EU options Prime Minister Andy Burnham described to Labour's Liverpool conference on 29 September 2026. He will detail the plan at the autumn reset summit. He said Brexit 'hasn't given us control' and holds back growth. Options are Norway-, Switzerland- or Canada-style trade deals, customs union (shared tariffs), or single market (shared rules).
