Smith Defends Dropped Trump Prosecutions Before Senate Panel

Former special counsel, an outside prosecutor, Jack Smith testified to the Senate Judiciary Committee on Sept. 29, 2026, defending his two cases against Donald Trump on efforts to overturn the 2020 election and on classified documents, both dismissed before trial.
