Burnham Puts Reversing Brexit Among Options for Long-Term EU Deal

Prime Minister Andy Burnham told Labour's conference in Liverpool on 29 September 2026 he will outline a longer-term EU relationship at the autumn reset summit. He said Brexit "hasn't given us control" and called it a handbrake on growth. Listed options range from Norway-, Switzerland- or Canada-style deals to customs union, single market, or reversing Brexit.
