More than 1.4m visits to NZ emergency departments a year

More than 1.4 million people came to New Zealand emergency departments each year, up 21 percent since 2015-16, according to the Australasian College for Emergency Medicine's first State of Emergency report. The report uses Health New Zealand data from 40 hospitals. It says population growth over the same time was 13 percent.
